·         Completed 40 clinical hours working in a Geriatric Facility through a Nurse Aide Level I training course

Nurse Aide I Skills:

·         Administering CPR and Basic First Aid

·         Taking Vital signs including: pulse, temperature, blood pressure, respirations and height and weight

·         Giving a complete bed bath and providing catheter care.

·         Making an unoccupied and occupied bed.

·         Transferring patients from bed to chair and bed to stretcher.

·         Assisting in feeding

·         Providing Oral care; Cleaning dentures

·         Assistance Bathroom/Bedpan/Urinal

·         Administering Cleansing Enema

 

Extracurricular Activities:

·         Health Occupations Students of America - member for 2 years

·         Comet Cares/Relay For Life – member for 1 year

            -Volunteering to raise money for multiple causes in need.

·         Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps member for 4 years

-Sophomore and Junior Year: Operations Officer, responsible for coordination of various Clayton NJROTC activities including Drill Meets, Competitions and Community activities.

-Senior Year: Commanding Officer, Responsible for 150 cadets and all activities done by the unit.

-Volunteering in many Community Service projects

-Awards: Cadet of the Quarter, Honor Cadet, Distinguished Cadet, Cadet Achievement, Outstanding Achievement, Exemplary Conduct, Exemplary Personal Appearance,

-Focus on college prep and Health Science courses

            -Will be attending in the Fall 2012, in pursuit of a Nursing Degree.
